Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Weigh Safe Pintle Hitch with built-in scale for your three inch trailer hitch receiver. Now one of the standout features of this hitch is the built-in tongue weight scale that you see right here. So instead of guessing if your trailer is loaded correctly, you're gonna know every time you hook up. So this is going to eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales. And this is gonna make towing a lot safer because when you are weighed correctly with that tongue weight scale, you're gonna have less weight, better braking, and way more peace of mind.
And this is really a serious piece of hardware. This is gonna be rated for a max gross tow weight of 22,000 pounds and a max tongue weight of 2200 pounds, which is gonna make it a a better match for heavy duty trucks and big trailers. So if you're hauling heavy equipment, oversized campers or really big trailers, this thing is gonna be built to handle that when it's sitting into your, when it's sitting in your three inch trailer hitch receiver. Now this pintle hitch is compatible with lunette rings of all sizes and it can be easily swapped from this pintle hook attachment to ball attachments from Weigh Safe. This does not include the balls if this is just gonna be for the pin hook attachment, but you can either pick those balls up separately or you can get this with two balls, the 2-5/16" and the 2" balls.
So if that's something you would prefer over just this one with the pintle attachment, you can find those options here at etrailer.com. Now I did want to show you how easy this was gonna be to use, so as you can see we have a tethered safety pin and clip that I removed. We have a lever here that I'm gonna pull and that's going to allow me to lift that latch up. You'll drop your lunette ring down and then you'll just easily pop that latch back down. It's already secured.
And then just for extra security, you'll replace the tethered pin and clip here and then that is going to be it. It'll be down the road. Now I just wanted to show you too how easy it is to get that height adjustment. This is going to give you about a six inch drop and so you are gonna get two keys. I'm gonna use one of them to unlock this dual pin slider lock and remove it just like that.
And then as you can see, you're gonna be able to easily get that height adjustment that you're looking for. This can only be used in the drop position. And then if you ever want to remove the pintle attachment, if I can slide this off here just like that, then what you would do is just remove this pin right here and it's got a key ring that's gonna allow you to remove the pin and then you can just pop that pintle attachment off and then drop your compatible Weigh Safe ball in there and then secure it again with the pin. So it's gonna be very easy to get that height adjustment to swap out for the ball attachment, if that's something you would prefer. Then I'm just gonna go ahead and replace the platform here on the shank and then line up my holes, pop in that dual pin slider lock and then lock it back in. And then it's got a nice cap here to protect that keyway. So very easy to use and you're not gonna be at the back of your truck for a long time trying to get that adjustment. It's gonna be pretty easy and take virtually seconds to get that adjustment that you're looking for. Now the build quality is all steel construction. So, and it's got a really great textured matte black finish that I think is gonna do a great job of protecting this from rust and corrosion. Some measurements that you might be interested in. From the center of our pintle hook attachment to the center of our first hitch pin hole, we're about eight inches. Moving over to the center of the second hitch pin hole, a little over nine inches. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about nine, I'm sorry, about 2-3/8". So again, this is gonna slide into your three inch trailer hitch receiver. This weighs about 35 pounds and this pintle attachment is not compatible with Weigh Safe's aluminum line. So this has been designed to only be used with their, with their steel product line only, just so you're aware of that. So if you are regularly maxing out, you're towing loads with a big truck and you want the peace of mind that comes with more capacity and that built in scale, this three inch version is gonna be a great investment to consider, but if you're towing lighter or more occasional, in more occasional situations, we do also offer a 2-1/2" hitch and a 2" hitch option from Weigh Safe as well. So whichever combination that you're looking for, I'm confident that we have you covered. But like I said, if you have any other questions about this or other products that we carry from Weigh Safe, don't hesitate to reach back out to us because we wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, let's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
